Honours Applied Psychology in Human Behaviour – Early Childhood Studies Specialization

Students in Honours Human Behaviour – Early Childhood Education Specialization focus on human behaviour with an emphasis on the development of the whole child, while learning to apply collaborative skills to support young children and their families.

Students in this program pursue two qualifications simultaneously and graduates receive the Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Mohawk and the McMaster Honours Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

Admission Requirements

Enrollment in this program is limited.

Admission is by selection but requires, as a minimum, completion of any Level 1 program with a Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 including:

  • 1 course from PSYCH 1X03, 1F03
  • 1 course from PSYCH 1XX3, 1FF3
  • 1 course from BIOLOGY 1P03, Grade 12 Biology U (SBI4U))
  • 1 course from MATH 1F03, 1K03, STATS 1L03 (or one of Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U), Calculus & Vectors (MCV4U), Data Management (MDM4U))

This program includes two, four-month field placements, done within the community.
