In-Person Tour Information:

The Faculty of Science is one of McMaster’s largest faculties, with over 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students, seven Level I programs, and 39 programs, which begin in Level II. Applying to university and deciding on a program of study can be overwhelming.

To help you make an informed decision, we invite you to take an in-person Science Tour to see what the Faculty of Science at McMaster University has to offer. This 60-minute tour is led by current undergraduate students from a wide range of science programs. The tours highlight the labs, facilities and services used by students in Level I Science programs. Tours are free of charge.

March Break Tours and Opportunities (March 10-14, 2025):

Faculty Information Station
March 10th – 14th
McMaster University Student Centre – Marketplace
10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday

We understand that many of McMaster’s future students have applied to multiple programs across various faculties. To ensure guests on campus have easy access to the program information they need, all McMaster faculties will have tables staffed with current students and recruitment teams throughout March Break in the McMaster University Student Centre – Marketplace from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Science Lab & Facilities Tour
March 10th – 14th
Tour Times: 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, Monday to Friday

These 70-minute tours will be led by current undergraduate students from a wide range of science programs and will highlight the labs, facilities and services used by students in Level I Science programs, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Integrated Science, Kinesiology, and more. Our student guides will share their personal experience in these facilities and ensure all your questions are answered. March Break Tours will depart from the Office of the Associate Dean of Science (Undergraduate Studies), Burke Science Building (BSB), Main Lobby at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm. Tours are free of charge.

PNB LIVELab – Offered by the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour
March 10th – 14th
Tour Times: 12:00 – 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday

If you are interested in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour and want to explore one of the most unique labs on campus, register for a LIVELab tour! The LIVELab is committed to developing a world class facility for the scientific study of music, sound, and movement and their importance in human development and health. Join us for interactive demonstrations of LIVELab technologies, including active acoustics, motion capture, electroencephalography (EEG) systems, mobile eye tracking, and more.

Biology Greenhouse – Offered by the Department of Biology

McMaster Science is home to a Greenhouse housing a richly diverse collection of live plants encompassing more than 217 species in 150 genera from over 77 plant families. The plant collection contains bamboo, insect-eating cobra plants, a chocolate tree, a coffee tree, a palm tree, sugarcane, cycads, bananas, and more.

Guests interested in visiting our Biology Greenhouse can book a tour at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 10th – Friday, March 14th.
