Overview
Here’s where we teach our Level 1 chemistry courses. Chemistry labs are two and a half hours long, every other week. They are designed to complement and reinforce material presented in lectures. After completing a pre-lab assignment, students under the supervision of their teaching assistant complete the experiment and prepare a report, which is submitted at the end of the lab period. Some labs are done individually while others are completed with a partner.
You can expect to see many different types of experiments including acid-base titrations, the synthesis of aspirin, and copper cycling. The skills you develop during these labs will help you in future chemistry courses, and in labs in other scientific disciplines.
